Experts in the industry are sounding the alarm on the increasing cybersecurity risks posed by AI agents. These tools have the capability to identify and exploit system vulnerabilities at a faster rate and with more persistence than human hackers. Shlomo Kramer, the CEO of Cato Networks, a cybersecurity and networking company, highlighted the imminent threat, stating that "The agentic attackers are coming," marking a significant juncture in cybersecurity history. It is cautioned that AI has the potential to heighten existing risks and expedite the development of new software exploits. Kramer emphasized that with each new generation of models, more severe cybersecurity threats will emerge. He pointed out the upcoming models such as "Mythos," the next OpenAI model, "Gemini" from Google's Alphabet, and forthcoming open-source Chinese models. This warning emphasizes the urgent need for enhanced cybersecurity measures in the face of evolving AI threats.
