A joint study by Honeywell and the MIT Center for Sustainability Science and Strategy predicts potential yearly savings of $225 billion in production expenses for oil-based fuels, with a considerable $80 billion in savings for LNG exclusively, by the year 2050. These significant cost reductions are projected to be achievable through the adoption of AI-enabled technologies. The study was carried out in Charlotte, North Carolina and was announced on June 24, 2026.
