Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas expressed his continued preference for Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) as his primary financial asset, citing concerns about the global debasement of fiat currencies. He advised investors to view cryptocurrency as a long-term asset rather than a short-term trade. In an interview with CoinDesk on June 17, Salinas revealed that his exposure to Bitcoin has increased amid a recent market downturn where BTC prices dropped by approximately 40% over the past year. He emphasized his practice of converting fiat currency into Bitcoin promptly, stating, "As soon as I get my hands on some fiat, I turn it into Bitcoin." Salinas clarified that his previous comments regarding a significant portion of his wealth allocated to Bitcoin were specific to his liquid financial portfolio, excluding his total net worth which includes various real assets like businesses, properties, and transportation. Currently, around 80% of his liquid investment portfolio is now in Bitcoin.
