The CEO of Paramount Skydance Corporation, David Ellison, is looking into ways to revitalize MTV and other legacy cable networks as the popularity of pay TV decreases. Comcast Corporation has spun off its cable networks into a new entity called Versant, and Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. plans to separate its studio and streaming operations from its traditional cable assets. At a recent private dinner, Ellison and his team, along with company president Jeff Shell, met with former MTV executives to discuss how the network could regain its previous status as a cultural powerhouse. Analysts believe the turnaround for Paramount Skydance could take several years to materialize.
