EchoStar Corporation (NASDAQ: SATS) announced a $17 billion deal on Monday to sell its AWS-4 and H-block spectrum licenses to SpaceX, owned by Elon Musk. The agreement includes $8.5 billion in cash and $8.5 billion in SpaceX stock. Additionally, SpaceX will fund around $2 billion in cash interest payments on EchoStar debt until November 2027. The transaction also involves a long-term commercial deal for EchoStar's Boost Mobile customers to access SpaceX's Starlink Direct to Cell service through its cloud-based 5G core. This move follows EchoStar's acquisition of spectrum over the past decade.
