On June 17, 2026, Applied Atomics revealed a new licensing deal with BWX Technologies, Inc. related to BWXT’s mPower™ small modular reactor (SMR) technology. This agreement grants Applied Atomics sole rights to utilize mPower for the establishment of land-based nuclear facilities in the US, Canada, and other regions. BWXT will maintain ownership of the mPower intellectual property (IP) and oversee the exclusive manufacturing of all mPower components. Additionally, BWXT will receive royalties for any components produced by Applied Atomics or third-party entities.
